It’s been a productive start to my new year. Despite nursing a head cold, I had for the first few weeks, I made plenty of art to prepare for the coming year!
On February 12th, I’ll be tabling at Northwest Indiana Comic-Con! It’s the first time in two years that I’ve tabled at a con!
The things you’ve seen on my Etsy Store, you can get them at the con! This comes with the added benefit of meeting me in person and having a chat!
If you don’t know what you want to buy from me or have everything I have to offer, from my comics to my stickers, I opened a Ko-fi page as a tip jar. You can drop a small tip to me and commend my efforts!
I made a gift art piece for Chris Scott of his characters in RayFox for his birthday as a long-coming thanks for being a friend. I inked it traditionally and colored it digitally in Clip Studio Paint. It’s been a couple of years since I broke out the brushes.
It was nerve-racking at first, but, inking with my Windsor Newton Series 7 Number 2 Brush became like riding a bike again. I sent the original art to Chris to keep for himself.
I even did a dumb Chirstmas-themed telephone thing in Chris’s Discord to pass the time.
The object of the game was to draw something based on a blind prompt from the previous artist or writer and pass it off to the next person for them to interpret. You can watch the VoD of the entire thing on Scotty’s Twitch Channel.
I tackled a new commission on Twitter as well. This is one of my more experimental pieces as I was trying out different ways to deal with lines.
There were a few hiccups on the way, but this got done! I had carte blanche to draw whatever action pose I wanted, so it was tough to pick.
I’m glad I managed to get this finished in a timely manner and my client is happy with it too! If you’re interested in a commission for yourself, you can check my page here!
I’ve neglected the rest of my Gamestore Tutorial stuff from my business from the holidays. So I’m resuming work on posting the rest of the parts in the series.
If you still haven’t read up on my tutorials, you can hop in here!
I’m reading Artist Write to Work by Katie Kramer to learn more about self-promotion. It’s one of the few writing books that’s actually getting me to write as I read it.
I suck at self-promotion, especially on the internet, and I never know what to help to do or sell with my art. So reading this book might help me figure how to talk about my artwork.
My everything else news is fine besides my short bout of sickness. I’m doing my best to keep up with my future plans, so keep an eye out for that!
