March Sketchbook 2025

At 33 years of age, I’m still kicking it with drawing cool stuff. This is the rundown of what I’ve been drawing over the month.

Woolly Mouse Pixel Art

Pixel Illustration of an anthropomorphic female mouse with long bushy fur. She stands on top of a rock wearing a white skimpy loincloth and tube top with tusk earrings and necklaces. She also wields a crystal spear.

I learned about the existence of Woolly Mice and thought I’d take a shot at some stone punk type mouse girl who I’ll dub, Murnia, The Maid of The Miocene. It’s a decently pulp name for a barbarian type like her.

Digital sketch of an anthropomorphic female mouse with long fur, a spear and a loincloth.

I’m elated that she got on the front page of Newgrounds again! More and more people are finally seeing my efforts!

Another bunch of exploration sketches of Murnia. What if she used a moth as a hunting hawk? A sort of Mothry?

Two pencil sketches of an anthropomorphic female mouse with a moth perched on her arm. She wields a small spear for hunting.

Another bunch of exploration sketch of Murnia. Since the actual Woolly Mice are gene splicing experiments, I’m pondering a sci-fi bend to her story.

Two pencil sketches of a female mouse inside a stasis tank of a laboratory for experimentation. The left sketch is a close up study of the oxygen mask on her snout and the right sketch is a thumbnail of how the stasis tanks looks.

Gel pen sketches of the science team in charge of the program that created Murnia. The left gent has protagonist energy, so I’ll do something more with him later.

Pencil and pen sketch of three anthropomorphic rodent scientists in lab coats and glasses.

Another sketch of Murina in battle with a Saber tooth tiger. It’s a fountain pen sketch I didn’t want to finish, but I pushed through the self loathing to put lines down.

Pen and ink sketch of an anthropomorphic mouse battling am anthropomorphic tiger with a small spear

A pair of pencil sketches of Murina battling with a mini raptor. I don’t like these unclear sketches as I wasn’t factoring in both the wooliness of the mouse or the feathers of the dino. It’s a work in progress.

Two pencil sketches of an anthropomorphic and a raptor in various wrestling poses trying to battle each other

Callie Briggs Pixel Art

Callie Briggs entry I won for a Lospec “I’m not a furry but…” Pixelart collab event for the their Discord Server. I only entered for the Media category, as I didn’t have a fursona(yet).

Pixel animation of Callie Briggs from the cartoon SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron. Callie is an anthropomorphic female cat with blonde fur wearing a pink suit and skirt adjusting her glasses.

And a timelapse:

Lake Park Comic Con 2025

I told myself to take a year off conventions but I still went to Lake Park Comic Con in early March as I committed to it last year.

Along with the typical selling of what’s left of my books and stickers, I took Deadpool and Nightwing postcard commissions. It’s been a bit since I drew humans but I still got it.

After those commissions, I inked older sketches of Gryphons I made at a previous con.

Pen and Ink sketch of a variety of bird characters on bristol board. Top drawing is an anthropomorphic female gryphon in a winged flight pose. Middle left sketch is an anthropomorphic bird wearing a metal helmet. It draws a small blade hidden under it's wings. Middle right sketch is an anthropomorphic female gryphon wearing a toga. The Bottom sketch is of a anthropomorphic female gryphon in a flight pose with a stripped fur pattern.

Raleigh the Bunny

Bunday morning sketch that I drew with a Prera fountain pen, scanned, then colored in Procreate between doing laundry. It’s been rough getting my pens to flow again since I don’t draw with them as much.

Anthropomorphic spotted rabbit Character illustration drawing in traditional fountain pen, scanned and colored digital in Procreate on iPad in various poses. On the left pose front view, she has long hair, a pink tank top that extenuates her breasts and hip-hugging blue short shorts. Middle pose is a back view action pose without clothing and the far right view is another back view pose of the character adjusting her hair.

I colored in Procreate to get myself used to working with my iPad and True Grit Texture Supply brushes as coloring brushes. I did my best to avoid getting frustrated about the results not being 100% perfect to me.

Cat Call Girl

An funny old Procreate drawing I made years ago that I forgot to post. it was a silly idea of small house cats hiring a giant tiger lady for… goods and services…

A digital illustration of a large anthropomorphic female tiger wearing a red dress being propositioned with sacks of gold by three shorter male house cats for illicit activities.

Cole Blackmask Drawings

It’s been a while since I sketched Cole himself. I doodles a funny interaction of him pitching a looking glass to an interested duchess and getting distracted in the process.

Copic Marker sketch of an anthropomorphic female deer in a regal yet revealing dress peers through a telescope with the help of a lecherous anthropomorphic raccoon holding up the telescope.
Digital illustration of an anthropomorphic male raccoon in a blue jacket carrying lemons and grapes, trying to trade the grapes with an anthropomorphic female fox in a white dress and apron, who has various wine bottles. The Fox refuses offer, so the Raccoon offers a handful of lemons, which she agrees to trade for.

When Cole is seeking extra coin, he can strike up a negotiation with various townsfolk and travelers! Some will like what he’s offering, while many won’t. People are fickle and Cole’s got his work cut out for him!

Tiny Cole fact that doesn’t matter: Cole slicks back his hair to keep up appearances trying to make money. It gets disheveled out of place when truly beat up in bad scraps.

Pen and ink sketch sequence of an injured anthropomorphic raccoon defiantly slicking back the top of his hair ready to press forward.

An idea sketch I have of a Beaver Clubber wielding a “normal” variant of the Bear Clubber’s Thorn Club. It’d be a nice consistency thing that the bear would have gotten that idea from one of these guys to make a weapon.

Pencil sketch of an anthropomorphic beaver wearing a swimming vest, they wield a large wooden club with a handle chewed up handle.

A sloppy game idea sketch idea of Cole being able to parry larger animal attacks with a Dragon Screw Legwhip and take them down.

Pencil sketch of an short anthropomorphic wolf attempting to kick an anthropomorphic raccoon, only for the raccoon to catch the kick in his arms and go for a counter throw tripping the leg.

Baboon Pirate Sketches

Been mulling around this Baboon pirate character from the butt end of February. Baboons are an interesting species of monkeys as they’re the closest to little goblins as you can find.

Traditional brush pen and copic marker turnaround sketches of an anthropomorphic red furred baboon character in blue chaps, welding a small yellow flintlock pistol.

I made many exploration sketches with this baboon. But I need get a better habit of thinking of an actual backstory for these designs and characters.

Pen and ink sketch of a battle between and anthropomorphic raccoon and an anthropomorphic baboon who tangles the raccoon's throat in his tail and uses his kicks to counteract the raccoon drawing his cutlass.
Pen and ink sketch of an anthropomorphic male baboon pirate having an anthropomorphic female monkey ninja in a hugging choke hold while drinking from a bottle. The illustration features the baboon's prominent butt and the monkey's predominant cleavage.

Olivia the Green Dragon Drawings

Been a while, so I sketched Olivia my Dragon character. Right now, I’d say she exists for me to learn how to draw flight poses.

2 Copic Marker Sketches of a anthropomorphic female dragon in different poses. Left pose is a foreshortened flight pose and the right pose is a back view showing off her sword coiled in her tail.
Pen and ink collage of sketch of an anthropomorphic female dragon character in various poses of winged flight. The sketches are drawn with a Tombow Fudenosuke Soft Tip Brush Pen.

Madame Emme the Cow Mage

Traditional Illustration color digital in Clip Studio Paint. Illustration is of an anthropomorphic female cow with a half and half black and white fur pattern and golden horns and hooves. doning a revealing red and black robe and cape. She carries a large hammer and stone tablet on her person.

Madame Emme, the dichromatic cow mage who wields earth-shattering power. Her tablet is inscribed with devastating spells, that…needs to written down…. yeah, I’m still working on that but this ink drawing has been in my files forever and I wanted some amount of color on it.

Pen Ink and Grey Marker Model Sheet of an anthropomorphic female cow. The Top two sketches show off her model facing front and back showing how her black and white fur pattern will go. The bottom sketches demonstrate the characters side poses, showing that her half and half fur patter stays on the same right side when the character turns their body

I even made a small model sheet to help me understand how her half and half fur pattern works. I do need to decide on an outfit, because it keeps changing every drawing.

Traditional drawing and digital coloring of an anthropomorphic female cow with a half and half black and white fur pattern donning a revealing red robe and cape and gold arm bands. She floats in the air with a green glowing pearl infused with magical power.

Emme’s been in my older sketchbooks and writing notes for a bit and you might’ve seen her among other cow designs in the past.

Marker drawing of anthropomorphic female black and white cow, wearing a reveling red dress. She has her hand up in powered magic pose to cast a spell of light at the viewer
Pen and ink drawing of an anthropomorphic bull character with horns asymmetrical in size in a fight pose to the camera. He wears a half coat held up by straps, a tied sash at his waist and metallic gloves, boots and codpiece for brawling.

I’ll get off my cow obsession for the weekend as I just started scanning older art.

Other Sketches All Over

Copic Marker portrait of Marvel Comics, The Incredible Hulk with messy hair and a green scowl.

Ever since watching Captain America:Brave New World, I’ve been on a Hulk tear these days: Watching the first two movies, and now reading Al Ewing and Joe Bennett’s The Immortal Hulk.

Digital Illustration of an anthropomorphic male presenting unicorn with wings adorned with gold wrist bands. They hold a lavender flower over a clouded lavender sky.Traditional line pen art with digital coloring in Clip Studio Paint.

Dug up an old alicorn coloring 30 min warm up. Originally from my numerous 3.5×5.5 mini sketchbooks.

I gave myself an easier month of working less since it was my birthday but I’m going harder for April. To start out I’m getting started taking on small game boy commissions to keep my skills sharp for Blackmask. I’ll keep my slots open over the next few months to take on smaller commissions after my heavy hitters from last year.
